Designed for a client who wanted a true outdoor sanctuary, this space is as stunning at midnight as it is at noon.
Materials Used
The pergola and deck structure are built from premium treated hardwood timber — selected for its density, natural resistance to moisture, and rich warm tone. The timber beams are mortise-and-tenon jointed for maximum structural integrity, then finished with a semi-transparent stain that highlights the natural grain while providing long-term weather protection.
The raised deck platform features tongue-and-groove hardwood decking boards, kiln-dried and pre-treated to resist cupping, splitting, and fading. The surrounding gravel bed uses washed river pebbles for drainage and a clean, contemporary aesthetic, while the stepping stone path is laid in large-format concrete pavers with a brushed finish for traction and style.
The LED lighting system is fully integrated into the pergola structure using low-voltage, weatherproof LED strip lighting along the base of the beams, paired with directional wall sconces in a matte black finish.
